Making a House a Home

Hey guys, welcome to Second Time ‘Round, Boho Homes ๐Ÿ™‚ If you’re reading this, thank you. I appreciate you. This isn’t my first foray in to the blogging world. Some of you may have read my previous blog, No Labels Living. If you did, thank you again (: That was a place more to explore my past, and how I ended up where I am now. This blog, however, will be a place for me to explore my true passion, nesting, and all things related to running a household.

As I said on my home page, the home I grew up in was desolate. A time capsule built to the edifice of my attachment figures’ broken homes. I don’t want to focus too much on my past, but I’m sure I will be peppering my posts with “things to avoid”, aka past mistakes, while focusing on the ways I’ve learned to avoid/overcome them. As the Dead said, “what a long strange trip it’s been“.

So, with that said, I want to share with you the tools and skills I picked up, developed, and learned along the way. It was definitely not an easy road, or lessons to learn. But I had a lot of help along the way, and sometimes “you can get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right” (to quote another Dead song. If you couldn’t tell, I’m a phan of jam bands : )

Some of the areas I’ll be covering here are, budgeting, you only have to stumble into $130k worth of debt once to know you’ve made some poor choices, cooking & nutrition, I’ve been blessed to cook with some very talented people (looking at you Sarah and Chen Won: ) design, I truly believe that our built environment has the power to create a sense of safety and ease, friends and relationships, because what’s a home without people to share it with, what going green looks like for me, because there’s a lot of vague information out there, as well as some good stories and other topics, to be sure.

Basically, if you’ve ever found yourself wondering what you should do or where you should go in an area of your life where you find that you are clueless in knowing how to proceed, you are not alone. And hopefully I can shed some light on the subject.

I’ll also be talking about what self-care or what nurturing yourself looks like, for me. That’s something that I’ve had to learn the hard way, and something that isn’t as intuitive as you may think.

So, on that note, thanks for reading, and I hope you’ll be stopping by to visit more regularly : ) Peace, & thanks for reading ๐Ÿ”๏ธ๐ŸŒ™๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’™
